River is born at Demons Run, named Melody Pond, was kidnapped by the Silence in order to be raised into a weapon, turned into a psychopath with one goal -- killing the Doctor.
THE IMPOSSIBLE ASTRONAUT. ( EPISODE 601 )
Transferred to Graystark Hall, 1969 Florida, Melody was forced into an Apollo astronaut suit, something that Melody believed was "eating her". Melody reached out to President Nixon, leading to her first meeting with the Doctor. Amy, scared of the suit from having seen the Doctor die, shot Melody though she was unharmed.
DAY OF THE MOON. ( EPISODE 602 )
Melody later found Amy again, begging her for help, though Amy couldn't. Melody managed to force her way out of the suit, making her way to New York City. Though she became terminally ill she knew that she could regenerate, becoming a toddler.

LET'S KILL HITLER. ( EPISODE 608 )
Wanting to meet the Doctor Mels steals a car and finds Amy, Rory and the Doctor before forcing the Doctor to take her to 1938 so she could kill Hitler. Melody's real goal was to try and kill the Doctor, though after a confrontation with Hitler she was shot and ended up regenerating into the woman that would become River Song.
RIVER SONG
LET'S KILL HITLER. ( EPISODE 608 )
Having regenerated into River Song she was very focused on trying to kill the Doctor, eventually managing to poison him with a kiss before leaving to explore her new body. With Amy, Rory and the Doctor not letting her simply leave, and Melody becoming confused about who 'River Song' was, she demanded to know who River was. It was only when the Doctor was almost dead that she found out, realising that it was her. With Amy telling Melody that the Doctor was worth it she decided to sacrifice her remaining regenerations in order to save his life. She woke up in a hospital with a TARDIS-shaped diary, deciding to become River Song and began studying archaeology in order to find him.
CLOSING TIME. ( EPISODE 612 )
Having received her doctorate in archaeology Madame Kovarian appears again, once again forcing River into the astronaut suit so that she can kill the Doctor.
THE WEDDING OF RIVER SONG. ( EPISODE 613 )
Having fallen in love with the Doctor she refused to kill him, creating a paradox where all of history happened at once. They ended up marrying and, in order to restore the timeline, River went through with killing him -- however she only did this knowing that the death was fake, with the Doctor safe inside the Teselecta.
ADVENTURES IN STORMCAGE
FIRST NIGHT. ( VIDEO SHORT )
River was sentenced to twelve thousand consecutive life sentences in the Stormcage Containment Facility for the Doctor's murder, only serving the time to make the Silence believe that he was dead. On her first night in the Stormcage the Doctor turned up to take her on their first date, something that continued throughout time with the guards becoming accustomed to River frequently escaping -- and returning.
LAST NIGHT. ( VIDEO SHORT ) THE PANDORICA OPENS. ( EPISODE 512 )
Receiving a call from Winston Churchill River escaped from the Stormcage to steal a painting of Van Gogh's to present to the doctor -- a prophecy of what was to come and graffitied a diamond cliff at the dawn of time as a message to the Doctor. Discovering that the Pandorica was underneath Stonehenge they went to investigate, though was sent away in the TARDIS as the Doctor feared its explosion. Unfortunately she was trapped in a timeloop of the moment of the explosion.
THE BIG BANG. ( EPISODE 513 )
Rescued by the Doctor from the timeloop she helped the Doctor to reverse the Ttoal Event Collapse of the universe. With the Doctor now erased from time River left her diary at her parents wedding to ensure that he was remembered back into existence.
THE IMPOSSIBLE ASTRONAUT. ( EPISODE 601 )
Riskily travelling through her own timestream, receiving an invitation from the Doctor (who has yet to know who she is), River travels to the moment of the Doctor's death. Knowing what really happens she tries to prevent Amy and Rory from interfering, forcing herself to act as if she has no information of the events, only providing details that she could learn through 'investigating'.
DAY OF THE MOON. ( EPISODE 602 )
Investigating the Silence River helped the Doctor to defeat them by using their brainwashing of humanity against them, taking care not to run into her childhood self, killing the Silence that were holding Amy hostage. The day ended with River kissing the Doctor though, for him, it was their first kiss.
A GOOD MAN GOES TO WAR. ( EPISODE 607 )
After baby Melody had been kidnapped River, appearing late to everyone else, arrives at Demons Run. Fighting off the Doctors anger, stating that his actions were to blame also, River revealed to him who she was, spurring him to search time for her. With the Doctor gone River revealed her identity to Amy and Rory -- that she was their daughter and that she would be alright.
FIRST NIGHT. ( VIDEO SHORT PT 2 ) LAST NIGHT. ( VIDEO SHORT PT 2 ) THE TIME OF ANGELS. ( EPISODE 504 )
Hoping to earn her pardon River went on a mission to infiltrate the Byzantium, sending a message to the Doctor for his help. Given that her imprisonment was for killing the Doctor, events he had yet to experience, she lied about the reason that they were there.
FLESH AND STONE. ( EPISODE 505 )
Fighting their way through the Weeping Angels the Doctor discovered that River was imprisoned in Stormcage for killing a good man though she refused to reveal who she had killed. Defeating the Weeping Angels, having them erased from existence, River alluded to the fact that they would meet again -- when the Pandorica opens.
THE WEDDING OF RIVER SONG. ( EPISODE 613 )
River visited Amy and Rory after they witnessed the Doctor's death, telling them that he was not dead, that he was safe in the Teselecta.
RAIN GODS. ( VIDEO SHORT ) A GOOD MAN GOES TO WAR. ( EPISODE 607 )
Following a date on her birthday with the Doctor Rory arrives at Stormcage intending to recruit her for the battle of Demons Run. Realising when he is from River refuses, saying that she can't be there until the end, but that they would all discover who she really was.
ADVENTURES AFTER STORMCAGE
LAST NIGHT. ( VIDEO SHORT ) THE ANGELS TAKE MANHATTAN. ( EPISODE 705 )
River met up with the Doctor, Amy and Rory whilst investigating the Angels but became trapped by the Angels, breaking her wrist to escape. Trying to escape the hotel they ended up trapped on the roof where, to create a paradox, Amy and Rory killed themselves. This managed to kill all but one of the Angels, causing them to find a grave with Rory's name on it just before Rory was sent back in time. Unable to live without Rory Amy allowed herself to be touched by the Angel to live out her days with him. Both alone the Doctor asked River to travel with him but she refused -- she would travel with him but not all of the time.
THE HUSBANDS OF RIVER SONG. ( EPISODE 913 )
In an effort to get a diamond River encountered the Doctor in a new regeneration, not initially recognising him. The Doctor, realising that this would be the last time he saw her before she died, gifted her with his sonic screwdriver, promising to spend the night with her (which on Darillium lasted 24 years).
ARCHAEOLOGICAL ADVENTURES
SILENCE IN THE LIBRARY. ( EPISODE 408 )
River led a team into the Library to discover what had happened to it, summoning the Doctor when she realised there was trouble. Unfortunately, this was an incarnation that had never met her before making this their, in his perspective, first meeting.
FOREST OF THE DEAD. ( EPISODE 409 )
Fleeing from the Vashta Nerada, and lacking the Doctor's trust, she proved who she was by telling him his name. In order to save everyone in the Library, they needed to reset the computer, though what the Doctor had planned would sacrifice his life. Knowing of their future River traded places with him, refusing to let him die otherwise their life together would never have happened. In this, she realised that the Doctor now would always know how and when she died. The Doctor, in a gesture, uploaded her ghost data to the Library to allow her to live in a virual world.
THE NAME OF THE DOCTOR. ( EPISODE 713 )
Brought into a dream-induced conference call River learned that the location of the Doctor's tomb had been found and that it was threatened. River kept in contact with Clara to help her, later being seen by the Doctor and managing to have a goodbye with him, giving him hope that Clara wasn't dead.
